10 Elephants Poached

We have learned that 10 elephants were killed by poachers recently in and around Waza National Park, Cameroon. This is the area where NC Zoo head veterinarian Mike Loomis has been working through the years with help from the NC Zoo Society, WWF and the government of Cameroon.

At least $10,000 is on the way to Cameroon from donors through the Zoo Society toward stopping the poachers.
