Attack!

If you want to see NC Zoo lions attack a papier-mache "giraffe" be at the lion exhibit overlooks Sunday (April 24) at 1:30 p.m.

I watched the then younger males "attack" a papier-mache "zebra" many months ago. That one was slow developing, but very interesting.

The "zebra" was on high ground and facing the lions as they were released into the exhibit. They were very cautious in their approach to, stalking of and eventual attack of the "zebra", which was stuffed with meat.

At one point, the more aggressive lion, had retreated a bit when the wind moved the tail of the "zebra". It was then further distracted and delayed by the laughter of the 100-plus visitors who were watching every movement with great interest.

Hope you can be there.
