Edisto Island

Hosts Shana and Bobby took us to Spoleto and Charleston the evenings of Friday and Saturday. Big treats!

The biggest treat, however, was a day trip Saturday to their beloved Edisto Island and Edisto Beach. A drive down
Botany Bay Road is worth the whole trip...but there's much more to offer.

Many other roads like Botany Bay...wonderful swamps and marshes...wild irises...herons...a four foot alligator...and a long walk on the beach. Bobby knows his fossils. Not just petrified sharks teeth wash up on Edisto Beach...but mastodon "parts", turtle "parts' and "mystery parts" (Bobby has a ranger friend who can solve most of the mysteries.)
