Wishing Kiwi 40 Good Years

Aukland Zoo, New Zealand, helped an injured North Island brown kiwi recover to be re-released to its native habitat and a chance to live another 40 years. (Link)

There is an organized effort to increase the numbers of these threatened kiwis (Operation Nest Egg).
