The Indianapolis Zoo's 5-month old African elephant now weighs 482 pounds. He was 200 pounds at birth, reports Diana Penner, INDYSTAR.com. (Link)
"Kedar doesn't vocalize often, but occasionally, when he's startled or especially excited -- like when he gets to play with his favorite ball -- the baby trumpets a high-pitched toot."
The Zoo expects another elephant in September. It would bring the Zoo's elephant population to eight.
