Puerto Rican Crested Toads Saved
Dr. Mike Loomis, North Carolina Zoo head veterinarian, told Zoo management staff today that the other Zoo vet, Dr. Ryan DeVoe will be receiving 150 Puerto Rican crested toads from another zoo.
Ryan has been working with the species, which is facing challenges in its home territory. The other zoo was going to euthanize these toads because a disease has infected some of that zoo's larger population.
So glad Ryan and our Zoo is willing to save these here.
