Bigger Sweep
In Randolph County, 1229 Big Sweep volunteers removed 14,500 pounds of trash, well more than last year's significant totals.
The NC Zoo and its Bob Langston co-ordinated Randolph County's participation in North Carolina Big Sweep.
Son Evan and I enjoyed our Saturday morning, September 29 outing, although we found nothing as interesting as the wedding cake topper (a headless bride and groom!) that one Randolph County volunteer put into a trash bag.
An NC Zoo media release reports that many tires and the proverbial kitchen sink were also carried off.
