Anniversary of Scary Space Flight
USA Today recognized the recent, 47th anniversary of the first USA space flight with crew...of one, the chimpanzee, Ham.
"Young Ham was aloft about 17 minutes in which sounds to have been a hair-raising flight even if he had been capable of understanding what was happening: a launch delay followed by a bad shot followed by a bad angle of ascent followed by a mayday and abort signal followed by overacceleration followed by excessive weightlessness followed by a splash landing that very nearly sank into the ocean... Ham, dude, I would seriously be speaking to that airline about a refund."
Ham retired to the NC Zoo, where he spent the rest of his days in relative calm.
