NC Zoo Loses Elderly Zebra
When NC Zoo vet Dr. Ryan DeVoe reported on the recent death of a 32 year-old zebra, he noted that her ISIS (International Species Inventory System) number is just 356 and that NC Zoo bull African elephant C'Sar is #27, showing just how long the North Carolina Zoo has been a participant in the worldwide inventory of exotic animals.
Lucy Segerson has long entered NC Zoo info into the system. It was announced that she will retire mid-year.

This is sad news. What was her name? When will we know how she died?
Brian
Not sure of spelling: "Jenny".
She had joint problems. Fell in training.
Poor old girl. The zebras are my daughter's favorites and she always has to ride the "Zebra bus" after seeing them. How old do they normally live in captivity?
A quick Google search would indicate that 20-25 years applies to both captive and the more fortunate wild zebras.
