Signs of Change?

This is the second recent incident of Polar bears showing up in towns and far from their normal, sea ice habitat. Climate change is blamed.

So sad. The mother and two cubs are killed.

It is so rare for the folks in the little Northwest Territories town to see Polar bears that..."many of Déline's children didn't even know polar bears are wild and dangerous. They think they are cute to look at, but one little swat and you'd be gone," says Walter Bayha, a Déline resident and chair of a local renewable resources board. "We will need a plan... [on] how to deal with this in the future," the 54-year-old former wildlife officer said.
