Fossil Salting

Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park, Scotland Neck, NC, is adding a "fossil dig" next to its playground. The sandy dig will be "salted" with small fossils just as some youth "gem mines" salt bags of dirt with small gem pieces.

New swan and crane exhibits are being created now below the "North America" and "Eurasia" waterfowl exhibit complexes.

NC Zoo Society memberships allow free visitation to Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park.
