Ousted!
The NC Zoo's sole bongo (another is planned to arrive) was introduced to the Forest Edge habitat here Monday. All was going well until the giraffes were let onto the exhibit (long called "ZOG" here for the zebras, ostriches and giraffes it includes).
The bongo was quickly back in off-exhibit areas behind Forest Edge. Next try may come at the end of August.
Zoo animal introductions are long, involved and unpredictable processes which required zoo keeper knowledge, technique, effort and patience.
