Short Tusk/Short Tusker
NC Zoo youngest African elephant Batir arrived here with Mom and a damaged tusk many months ago. Good dental and veterinary work was done to try to save the big "elephant tooth". That has failed and the tusk will no longer grow.
Efforts will now be made to save the short tusk in place. Batir will grow. It will not.
