Madrid Zoo Wants Octopus Paul
Why does a Spanish zoo want Paul, the octopus at a German aquarium? Because Paul gained fame by successfully predicting winners of recent World Cup matches. When he went out on a limb (one of eight?) and picked Spain over his Germany in the final and was again correct, he became, it would appear, a Spanish national hero.
"The Madrid Zoo also offered to exchange animals with the German aquarium [Sea Life] in return for Paul or beat any other offers, and promised he would "receive the utmost attention, a reflection of the great affection that all Spaniards profess for him since he predicted that the Spanish squad would win the World Cup."" (Don't forget to offer a future, first-round draft pick.)
